First ever Quran memorization and recitation competition in Sri Lanka
The first Quran memorization and recitation competition is being held in Sri Lanka in which 1500 male and female students will participate. The competition is being organized by the Saudi Embassy in Colombo with the support of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Sri Lanka. This competition will be known as "Arman-i-Qur'an".
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has divided the competition into four parts. Here are the details:
Complete Qur'an Memorization: The participants in this section have complete memorization of the Holy Qur'an.
Memorizing 20 Verses: Participants in this section memorize 20 verses of the Holy Quran.
Memorizing 10 Verses: Participants in this section memorize 10 verses of the Holy Quran.
5 Verse Memorizers: Participants in this section memorize 5 verses of the Holy Quran.
1500 students will participate in the initial stages of the competition, while only 240 students will participate in the final round. In the competition, 5 people will be selected from each field, which will make a total of 40 candidates. 8 main sections have been set for the competition, out of which four are for male students and four for female students.
The aim of Arman-e-Qur'an is to promote the recitation and memorization of the Holy Quran in Sri Lanka and to increase the education and training of the Holy Quran in the new generations. Through this competition, the knowledge and understanding of the Holy Qur'an is being promoted to strengthen the spirituality of its retention and implementation. newswarningtv
